About me

My name is Poppy Peach, I am a certified trauma-informed horse trainer and animal communicator.

I share my life with three incredible horses called Willow, Annie and River, who inspire, uplift, and challenge me in many wonderful ways.

I don't use one 'technique' in my horsemanship. My goal above all else is for me, Willow, Annie and River to feel comfortable, safe and joyful in each other's presence. My approach to how I relate to them (or indeed, any horse) is soft, relational, and always focused on honouring their unique voice and personality.

I am based in East Sussex in the South of England, at the base of the South Downs.

About: About
"I’m in this for the love of the horse on both a species and individual level. Although I am a qualified ‘trainer’, my true passion lies not in changing the horse, but in meeting them where they’re at. I celebrate each horse's individual character, and feel honoured to witness their authenticity."

A response from trauma-informed horsemanship coaching ~

Poppy is an incredibly kind, intuitive, and supportive Horsewoman, who is skilled in supporting traumatised and troubled Horses. Her support has changed my Equine relationships by helping me to develop a greater sense of presence and mutual care. She has helped me learn that being-with our Horses in their struggle is what creates transformation, not just trying to change them. Poppy's impact on my life goes further than just in my relationships with Horses. I take the lessons Poppy has taught me everywhere, from the barn to my local trail.  I would recommend Poppy's services to anyone that wants to have a balanced and magical relationship with their Horse, based on mutual communication, autonomy, and care.

Willow, Annie and River

Of course, this page would not be complete without an introduction to Willow, Annie and River, the three horses I share my life with. They are my inspiration, and this endeavour would not exist without them.

WILLOW

Willow is deeply wise, grounded and peaceful. She is the most sensitive horse I have ever known, able to pick up on the tiniest cues and intentions. I have never been transformed by another horse as much as I have been by Willow - we have been on a journey of challenge, unlearning and relearning together. I feel that I know her better than any other being in my life, and at the same time feel that I am meeting her for the first time every day. She is truly special, and I have never had the privilege of knowing another horse quite like her.

ANNIE

Annie is young, curious and joyful. She is incredibly explorative and enthusiastic, and her wonder is contagious. In many ways, I am still getting to know herHer wisdom is more in lightness than in depth, but it is no less important or potent than Willow's deep wisdom. Annie is inspiring both me and Willow to remember and embrace our inner youthfulness.

RIVER

River joined our herd only a few months ago, and already she has built beautiful relationships with both Willow and Annie. She carries a deep wisdom and softness, as the oldest member of our herd. She has an incredibly caring and maternal personality, and I cannot wait to get to know her more deeply.
